Much to my surprise and pleasure, I got a response today from my representative in the Oregon Senate.
Doug Whitsett wrote back to me that he too has been noticing a difference in the mileage between gasoline with and without ethanol.
In his Volvo he averages 29 mpg on regular gasoline, but with ethanol his mileage drops to 26.5. He tells me he travels an average of 3000 miles per month covering his five county district.

My wife and I just returned home from a road trip that took us 4500+ miles. We live in Oregon, where gasoline now includes 10% ethanol and is over $4.00 per gallon.
